Page, 86, passed away on Monday, June 21, 2004, at DePaul Medical Center. Mildred was born on July 23, 1917, daughter of the late Judge Reginald J.B. Page and Katharine Jones Page. She lived in the same house where she was born on Baldwin Avenue until she moved to the Ballentine on Granby Avenue in 2003. Mildred graduated from Maury High School and attended William and Mary College in Williamsburg, Va. She began her career as a secretary in the law firm of Page, Page, Page, and Levy, and then worked at the Legislature in Richmond, Va., for her late uncle, Vivian Page. During World War II, she worked at the Naval Landing Force Equipment Depot and volunteered at an airplane identification facility. She was then employed with the federal district court as secretary to Judge Richard Kellum until retirement. She was a member of Saint Andrews Episcopal Church, where she served on the vestry and volunteered in "The Church Mouse" gift shop. Her brother, Reginald "Nip" J.B. Page, preceded her in death. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Eileen Page of Raleigh, N.C.; nephews, Tom Page and wife Karen of Newport News, Va., Bob Page and wife Susan of Fayetteville, Ga.; nieces, Sue Brenzel of Raleigh, N.C., and Nan May and husband Gene of Asheville, N.C.; 12 grandnieces and -nephews; two great-grandnieces; and cousin, Connie Bohannon and husband Toppy of Norfolk. "Millie" had a wonderful circle of friends, including her church group, Baldwin Avenue neighbors, friends at the Ballentine, bridge and mahjong groups, and her many relatives in the Norfolk area. She always enjoyed the parties these groups would include her in, and she will be missed by all who knew her. A special thanks to the medical staffs at the Ballentine and DePaul Medical Center, particularly to the palliative care group who took special care of Aunt Mil. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Saint Andrews Episcopal Church in Norfolk, followed by burial in Elmwood Cemetery . In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to a charity of preference. Arrangements by H.D. Oliver Funeral Home, (757) 622-7353. Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - June 23, 2004 Grizzelle West Thomson, 91, of the 3100 block of Shore Drive, a retired math teacher, died April 23, 1992, in a hospital. Miss Thomson was born in Norfolk. She taught at Blair Junior High School, Norfolk, for more than 40 years and retired in 1965. She was a member of Galilee Episcopal Church and Daisy Chain of The King's Daughters. She was a graduate of Sweet Briar College. She is survived by cousins. The graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Elmwood Cemetery by the Rev. Richard Vinson. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk, is handling arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters. At the residence, Gilmerton, Va., Sunday January 27, 1907, Nannie K., beloved wife of Walter R. Chesson, and only daughter of Rev. J.H. Kabler (member of Virginia Conference), in the 26th year of her age. Funeral Services were held at the Gilmerton Methodist Episcopal Church Monday at 1 o'clock.
