Last rites for Mrs. Gladys Chestney,35, were held Sunday, Oct. 18, at Union
Congregational Christian Church, the Rev. Z. P. Jenkins officiating.

Mrs. Chestney, of 902 Bagby road, died at a local hospital on Oct. 11. She was a
native of Norfolk and a member of Union Congregational Church where she served
on the No. 2 usher board. She was also a member of the United Order of Tent.

She was the widow of W. Norman Chestney and the daughter of Hurley Babb, who
survives her.

Other survivors are her stepmother, Mrs. Mary Babb; one son, Eugene Chestney;
two daughters, Diana and Norma Chestney; one sister, Mrs. Jessie M. Wilson; one
brother, Clarence M. Babb, U.S. Navy; one sister-in-law; brother-in-law; two
uncles, two aunts, four nieces, four nephews and many friends.

Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, with Citizens Funeral Home in charge.
