Mr. Chewning was prominent in the business life of Berkley, where for several years he has operated the Chewning Electric Company. He was a son of the late Henry M. and Mrs. Virginia Corbin Chewning and is survived by his widow, Mrs. Margaret Chewning; one son, Henry Magruder Chewning, 3rd; one brother, Edward Chewning, of Martinsville; two half-brothers, Randolph and Henry Parker and his step-mother, Mrs. H.M. Chewning, of Martinsville. The body was removed to the J.R. Williams Funeral Home, 1027 Chesapeake Avenue, South Norfolk. Funeral arrangements will be announced later. ********************************************************************** Funeral services for Henry Magruder Chewning, who died Monday morning in the residence at Chesapeake Beach, were conducted this afternoon at 3 o'clock in Armstrong Presbyterian Church. Burial was in Magnolia Cemetery.
