Evelyn G. Chick, 76, of the 100 block of Powhatan Trail, died June 9, 1997, in a 
Norfolk hospital.

A retired hairdresser, she was a South Carolina native and the widow of Vincent S. 
Chick. She was a member of Women of the Moose.

Survivors include a daughter, Judith A. Mayhood of Norfolk; two sisters, Desree L. 
Joy of Charlotte, N.C., and Ruby Linehan, Edenton; two grandchildren, Wendy L. 
Mayhood of Virginia Beach, James K. Mayhood of Norfolk; great-grandson, Nicholas 
Arrington of Virginia Beach.

A graveside funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in St. Mary's Cemetery by 
Dr. James Bradshaw. The family will receive friends in Hollomon-Brown Funeral 
Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, 
memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
