Norfolk Ledger-Dispatch December 11, 1920
CHILDRESS – At his residence, 233 W. Thirty-sixth street, Friday, December 10, 
1920, at 1 o’clock a.m., DAVID J. CHILDRESS, in the 74th year of his age.
Remains will be taken from the above residence to the Third Christian church, 
Thirty-fourth street, for funeral services TOMORROW (Sunday) AFTERNOON, December 
12, at 3 o’clock. Friends of the family invited to attend. Interment, Elmwood 
cemetery.

His death certificate states his death date as December 11, as does his tombstone.
