Virginian-Pilot April 12, 1915
The funeral of Mrs. Eva Lee Chiles was held at the residence of her mother, Mrs. 
J. P. Sykes, 131 Tenth street, Saturday afternoon by Rev. Sparks W. Melton, pastor 
of Freemason Street Baptist church. The floral tributes were numerous and 
beautiful and there was a large attendance. Burial was in the family lot in 
Elmwood cemetery and the pallbearers were: H. W. Myers, R. C. Gray, F. T. Stant, 
R. L. Powell, W. J. Ward and C. W. Stant.
