Norfolk Journal and Guide,  Jul 17,1954
Joseph Christian, of 711 Culpepper street, died July 3 at a Norfolk hospital 
following  a long illness.  Funeral rites were conducted July 9 at Chatman’s 
Funeral Chapel with the Rev. J. C. Diamond, pastor of First Baptist Church, 
Berkley, officiating.

Mr. Christian was a member of Berkley Lodge No. 12 of Elks.  No known survivors 
survive.  Burial was in Mt. Olive Cemetery with Chatman’s Funeral Home in charge.
