Stephen drowned while swimming with other children off Chesapeake Beach near the

Stephen was the son of Mrs. Rosemary Vaughan Christie and the late Martin A. 
Christie. Besides his mother he is survived by a sister, Jeanine Christie, of 
Newport, R.I.; his maternal grandparents, Mrs. and Mrs. Martin Vaughan, of New 
York; and his paternal grandparents, Mrs. and Mrs. Stephen P. Christie of 
Newport, RI.
His body was taken to the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments.

Stephen Paul Christie, II — Funeral services for Stephen Paul, seven-year-old 
son of Mrs. Rosemary Vaughan Christie and the late Martin A. Christie, who 
drowned Monday, were conducted at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Ocean View, 
yesterday at 10 a. m. by the Rev. Walter Malloy. Burial was in St. Mary's 
Cemetery. Pallbearers were Carl Coley, John Broughton, William Holland and John 
Irvine.
