Norfolk - Mrs. Erma E. Claiborne, of 2813 Bickel St., died Friday Nov. 15 in 
a hospital.

A native of Martinsville, she was retired from Smith and Welton after 24 
years. She was a Baptist.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Margie Pope of New York and Mrs. 
William Davis of Washington DC; three sons, David O. Claiborne of Washington 
DC, and Norwood Claiborne and Bernard Claiborne, both of Norfolk; a sister, 
Mrs. Ida Martin of Martinsville; James Harriston of Baltimore MD; 14 
grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

A funeral service was held Tuesday at 1 p.m. in Twilight Chapel by the Rev. 
Henry W. B. Walker. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery with Twilight Funeral 
Home in charge.
