Norfolk - Mrs. Martha Claiborne, of 1263 Griffin street, received final rites 
recently in Shiloh Baptist Church.  The pastor, the Rev. J. H. Foster, 
officiated.  Burial was in Calvary Cemetery with Riddick Funeral Service in 
charge.

A native of Nottaway county, VA, she was a daughter of the late Llewellyn and 
Mrs. Catherine Faulks and the widow of Alfred Claiborne.  She was a member of 
the deaconess board and missionary circle at Shiloh Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, John Claiborne and Simon T. Claiborne, both of 
Norfolk;  two daughters, Mrs. Fannie Sawyer and Mrs. Martha Dalton of Norfolk;  
one brother, Henry Faulks of Newport News;  10 grandchildren;  and 24 great-
grandchildren.
