He was a native of Scotland Neck, N.C., son of Mr. and Mrs. William Clapp. He had lived in Norfolk 40 years. He had been employed at Wainwright Motor Co. for a year. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ethel Clapp; two sons, Albert Clapp and Andrew Clapp Jr. of Norfolk; two daughters, Mrs. Henrietta Stone of New York City and Mrs. Leathia McCoy of Norfolk; two sisters, Miss Annie Mae Clapp of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Miss Caretta Clapp of Washington; four brothers, Danford Clapp, Clarence Clapp and William Clapp of New York and Arthur Clapp of Scotland Neck; and four grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted today at 2 p.m. in Morning Glory Funeral Home by the Rev. J. Jasper Freeman, pastor of Queen Street Baptist Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
