Born in Norfolk, she was a retired customer service representative. Mrs. Clapp was the widow of Andrew Clapp and was also predeceased by her parents, Howard and Emma Floyd; two sisters, Alice Mae Poole and Nora Morris; and a niece, Bernice Inez Clemons. Survivors include a nephew and his wife, Leon and Edith Poole of Arlington; a cousin, Geraldine Wilson of Philadelphia; a dear friend, Mary Parrish of Norfolk; and a host of loving friends and church members. Mrs. Clapp was a lifelong member of First Calvary Baptist Church in Norfolk. Always an optimist, Mrs. Clapp truly loved life and the wonder of the human spirit. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at First Calvary Baptist Church, Norfolk, with Dr. Johnnie L. White Sr. presiding. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. today at Graves Funeral Home, Norfolk. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery .
