Alvah Clark, 47, vice-president of the firm of Joseph M. Clark & Brother, died in Baltimore, Md. today at 2:55 a.m. He had been in Baltimore for hospital treatment. Mr. Clark, the son of the late Joseph M. and Mrs. Mary Kelley Clark, was a native and lifelong resident of Norfolk. He was a well known sportsman and in addition to his official position with the Clark company was a director of the Wood Towing Company. He resided at 709 Graydon Park and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. In addition to his widow, Mrs. Virginia Penzold Clark, he is survived by one daughter, Virginia Penzold Clark; one son, J. Alvah Clark, Jr.; three sisters, Mrs. Emmett Hogan, Mrs. Frank D. Tarrall and Mrs. William Mason Walsh; one brother, Joseph M. Clark, Jr., all of Norfolk and several nieces. Funeral arrangements will be announced later. *************************************************************************** CLARK, J. ALVAH - At Baltimore, Md., Wednesday, March 5th, 1941, at 2:15 o'clock a.m., J. Alvah, husband of Mrs. Virginia Penzold Clark and son of the late Joseph M. and Mrs. Mary Kelly Clark, in the 48th year of his age. Remains will be taken from the residence, No. 712 Westover Avenue, to Sacred Heart Catholic Church for funeral services Friday morning at 10 o'clock. Friends of the family are invited to attend. Interment, St. Mary's Cemetery.
