The Virginian Pilot and Norfolk Landmark Saturday October 11, 1930
Mrs. Esther Lee Evans Clark, aged 72 years, widow of A. Woodson Clark and 
daughter of the late Captain Peter and Mary Evans, died Thursday night at 
10:30 o'clock at the residence, 310 Duncan avenue.  She was a native of 
Mathews County and had been a resident of Norfolk for 40 years.  Surviving 
her are two sisters, Mrs. W.T. Williams, of Norfolk; Mrs. Joseph Quemener, 
of Mathews County; five nephews, Dr. Wesley Williams, Frank E. Williams, 
Carroll, Lloyd and Robert Evans, all of Norfolk; four nieces, Mrs. Walter D. 
Murray, of Norfolk; Miss Olga Evans, of Baltimore, Md.; Miss Katherine 
Evans, of California, and Mrs. Ernest Gross, of Norfolk.  Funeral services 
will be held at the residence tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock, with the Rev. 
Roscoe M. White, D.D., pastor of Ghent M.E. Church, officiating.  Interment 
Elmwood Cemetery.
