Virginian-Pilot October 19, 1934
Samuel W. Clarke, aged 79, a former well-known resident of Norfolk, died at 
Belhaven, N.C., Wednesday morning at 5 o’clock. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. 
Mary F. Clarke, and a daughter, Mrs. William W. Lamar. The body will be taken from 
H. D. Oliver’s Funeral Apartments, 610-12 East Freemason street, to Elmwood 
Cemetery for services at the grave today at 12 o’clock noon, with the Rev. Worth 
Wicker, of Greenville, N.C., officiating.
