A funeral service for Mrs. Doris Parker Clarke, 28, of 716 Pulaski street was 
conducted at Queen Street Baptist Church Feb. 14 at 1 p.m. by the Rev. J. Jasper 
Freeman, pastor.  Burial was in Calvary Cemetery with Morning Glory Funeral Home 
in charge.

Mrs. Clarke died Feb. 6, the victim of a sexual assault and strangulation.  A 
man is now being held for grand jury action in the case.

Among survivors are her mother, Mrs. Ella Parker;  a son, Edward B. Clarke, Jr.;  
father, Edward Parker;  and four brothers, Willie H., Charlie, Edward Jr., and 
Alphonso Parker.
