Norfolk Ledger-Dispatch July 9, 1918
The remains of Mrs. Courtney N. Clarkson, widow of Samuel Floyd Clarkson, U.S.N., 
arrived here this morning from Washington, D.C., where she died last Saturday, and 
the burial was in Elmwood cemetery upon arrival of the steamer. Rev. Dr. F. C. 
Steinmetz and Rev. John E. Wales, both of Christ Episcopal church, officiating. 
The pallbearers were: J. Pearson Williams, John N. Williams, B. P. Loyall, Georg 
L. Arps, W. H. T. Loyall and H. N. Castle.
