Calvin Tracey ``Tex'' Clay Sr., of the 1700 block of E. Indian River Road, died May 13, 2003 in Sentara Retirement Village. He was born in Richmond, Ky. and was the widower of Mary Elizabeth Clay. He had retired from the City of Norfolk as a utility worker and was a Baptist. Survivors include a daughter, Jacqueline Osborne of Norfolk; four sons, Calvin Tracey Clay Jr. and wife Arlethia of Norfolk, Tyrone Clay, Lindwood Stokes and Earl Stokes, all of Norfolk; two sisters, Curlena Clay and Beatrice Cornelison, both of Kentucky; three brothers, James E. Clay of Lexington, Ky., Ernest Clay of Dayton, Ohio and Willie Joe Clay of Richmond, Ky.; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Other survivors include Mr. Vincent and Willie Mae Skinner, close friends, and a host of other relatives and friends. A funeral will be conducted at noon Tuesday in Carlos A. Howard Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Leroy Briggs. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . The remains will be ready for viewing from 3:30 to 8 p.m. Monday. The family will assemble at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the residence, 1724 E. Indian River Road, for the procession. www.carlosahowardfuneralhome.com.
