Norfolk - A funeral service was conducted Tuesday in Mother Church of God in 
Christ for Arthur Clayton of 1272 Dusch avenue by Bishop D. L. Williams.  Burial 
was in Calvary Cemetery with Hale Funeral Home in charge.  Mr. Clayton died 
April 9 in a hospital.

He was a son of the late Wiley Clayton and Mrs. Mary Batton Clayton and the 
husband of Mrs. Ella Clayton.

He was retired from Ballard Fish Company.

Besides his widow, he is survived by two sons, Arthur Clayton Jr. of New York 
and Joseph Clayton of Norfolk;  a daughter, Miss Bessie Clayton of Norfolk;  
three sisters, Mrs. Annie Brown and Mrs. Eliose Ruffin of New York and Mrs. 
Mattie Johnson of Norfolk;  five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
