Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Wednesday, January 13, 1999 
Bernice Inez Clemons, 84, of the 200 block of Median Circle, died Jan. 8, 1999,
in Maryview Medical Center.

Born in Norfolk, she was a retired cosmetologist. Mrs. Clemons was the widow of
Willie Oliver Clemons and was preceded in death by her parents, Norah and Thomas
Morris, and her aunt, Alice Mae Poole.

Survivors include her aunt, Mildred Clapp of Norfolk; a nephew, Leon Poole of
Arlington; a cousin, Geraldine Wilson of Philadelphia, Pa.; her godson and his
wife, Thomas and Evelyn Welch of Norfolk; a special childhood friend, Alice
Welch of Norfolk; and a host of loving friends.

She was a lifelong member of First Calvary Baptist Church of Norfolk, where she
was a member of the Women's Club, the Hospitality Club and the Floral Club.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. today at First Calvary Baptist Church,
Norfolk, by the Rev. Johnnie L. White Sr. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery .
The family will assemble at Graves Funeral Home at 10:15 a.m. Mrs. Clemons will
be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
