Virginian Pilot and Norfolk Landmark July 10, 1933

Walter Wellington Clendenning, aged 90, died at 5 o'clock yesterday 
afternoon in his home at Mount Pleasant, Norfolk County, after an illness of 
a year.  He was a native of Oxford County, Ontario, Canada, and had resided 
in this section for the past 33 years.  He is survived by his wife, Mrs. 
Mary Siple Clendenning, one daughter, Mrs. Simon Swartz, of Detroit; two 
sons, Arthur W. Clendenning, of Royal Oak, Mich., and Frank R. Clendenning, 
of Fentress; 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
The body was removed to the funeral home of Graham & Sykes, Jackson and 
Jefferson streets, South Norfolk, where funeral services will be conducted 
tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock.  Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
