Funeral services for Mrs. Bessie C. Clifton, 51, of Barraud Avenue, were held at
Shiloh Baptist Church Monday, January 3, with the Rev. W. L. Hamilton
officiating. Mrs. Clifton died at her residence Thursday, December 30. She was
the wife of Berry Clifton who besides five sons, James, Clennie, Willie, Earl,
Horace and Frank Cartwright; four daughters, Mesdames Edith Almond, Bessie Love,
Ethel Harris and Miss Mamie Cartwright; five brothers, five sisters and nine
grandchildren, survive her. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery.
