Coaps who died in Detroit, MI, January 11,was held at Mt. Zion A. M. E. Church, Monday, January 16. The funeral was largely attended and many could not be admitted. Rev. M. Davis, the pastor, conducted the funeral assisted by Revs. Cotton, A. J. Nottingham, Midgett and F. Gladney, all of whom spoke in glowing terms of the life of the faithful woman. She was a devoted member and consecrated worker of this church and her sterling qualities and untiring efforts in her work endeared her to the membership and the public in general. Mrs. Nellie Stallings sang very beautifully, “It Pays to Serve Jesus.” The Allen Bible class of which she was teacher, sang very touchingly “My Days Are Gliding Swiftly By.” Mrs. Nottingham presided at the organ and sang very beautifully “I’ve Done My Work.” The choir of which she was a leader for several years sang some of her favorite selections. Floral tributes were many and beautiful. Interment at Calvary Cemetery.
