Virginian-Pilot, January 16, 1900
Mr. Ezekiel H. Coates - The funeral of this gentleman, whose sudden death 
occurred at his home, No. 532 Church Street, Saturday night, was solemnized 
from the residence at 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon. The services were 
conducted by Rev. S. C. Hatcher, of Queen Street M. E. Church. The interment w
was in Elmwood Cemetery.
Following were the pall-bearers: C. C. Blake, C. F. Kegebein, M. F. Jones, S. 
G. Thompson, D. h. Keyes, W. W. O'Brien.
