Norfolk Virginian Pilot Thursday June 16, 1938
Mrs. Addie Simpson Cobb, aged 67, died yesterday morning at 6:10 o'clock at 
her residence, 131 Hough avenue, after a brief illness.  She was a native of 
Nansemond County and had made here home in this section all of her life.  
She was the daughter of the late Samuel and Mary Carroll Simpson and wife of 
Harry W. Cobb.  Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. 
L.K. Dashields, Norfolk and Mrs. Ivy B. Brown, Flushing, N.Y.; two sons, S. 
Simpson Cobb, Norfolk and Herman W. Cobb, San Diego, Cal.; two sisters, Mrs. 
Annie J. Simpson, Portsmouth and Mrs. Will Gillespie, Long Island, N.Y. and 
three grandchildren.  She was a member of St. Bride's Episcopal Church, 
Berkley and a charter member and Past Worthy Matron of the Berkley Chapter 
of the Order of Eastern Star.  The body will be taken from the residence to 
the St. Bride's Episcopal Church, where funeral services will be conducted 
tomorrow morning at 11 o'clock.  Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
