Virginian-Pilot  November 1, 1944
Mrs. Mary Hagen Lettres, aged 63, widow of Peter Lettres and daughter of the late 
Samuel and Mrs. Elizabeth Carrollton Hagen, a native of Ireland and a resident of 
Norfolk for 30 years, died Monday at 10:50 p.m. at a local hospital. She resided 
at 535 Delaware avenue.

Surviving are one daughter, Miss Sophie Helen Lettres; two sons, Leon John and 
James Francis Lettres, all of Norfolk; two nieces, Mrs. William Goerlich and Miss 
Rose Beauregard, of New York.

The body will be taken from the residence to St. Mary's Catholic Church for 
funeral services Friday at 10 a.m. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. 
Rosary services will be held at the residence Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
