Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Monday, June 11, 1990 
Wilbert Cofield Jr., of the 4600 block of Robin Hood Road, a forklift operator,
died June 8, 1990, in a hospital.

Mr. Cofield, a native of Edenton, N.C., was employed with Global Technology
Systems for 19 1/2 years. He was a member of New Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Magaline W. Cofield; two daughters, Linda Childs of
Norfolk and Mary Frances Leary of Edenton; two sons, Johnnie Lipscomb of Norfolk
and Marine Lance Cpl. Sherman Lipscomb of Camp Lejeune, N.C.; three sisters,
Charlotte Cooper of Virginia Beach, Minnie Cofield of Suffolk and Rosa Holley of
Edenton; a brother, Winther Cofield of Edenton; seven grandchildren; and 11
great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in New Calvary Baptist Church
by the Rev. Gilbert G. Campbell Jr. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . A wake
will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Hale Funeral Home. The body will be
taken to the church at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. Friends may join the family at the
residence.
