Norfolk Virginian October 14, 1873
Washed Overboard and Drowned.
New York, October 13 — The steam ship George W. Clyde, at Key West on the 8th 
instant, from Galveston for New York, reports that on the 6th instant, during a 
severe hurricane, Captain Cole, the second officer, the Chief Engineer and one 
seaman were washed overboard and drowned.
