Norfolk Journal and Guide,July 31,1954
William A. Coleman, 79, of 1446 West 44th street, died at 6:40 p.m. July 24 
in a Norfolk hospital following an illness of several years.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. July 28 at First Baptist Church, 
Lamberts Point, with the Rev. M. C. Southerland officiating.

Mr. Coleman was a native of Norfolk and a retired employee of the Norfolk 
and Western Railroad.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Cordelia O. Coleman; a daughter, and a 
granddaughter. Burial was in the family plot in Calvary Cemetery with Hale's 
Funeral Home in charge.
