Norfolk - On Monday April 30th, 2018, God called one of his angel's, Mittie 
Matthewson Coleman home. She leaves to mourn her death a devoted daughter, Kay 
Carter Hilliard, son-in-law Grover Leo Hilliard, and granddaughter, Melissa 
Carter. Mittie was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Lee Coleman, and two 
sisters Bernice Gholson and Eleanor Ruffin.

There will be a wake from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 4th at Graves Funeral 
home 1631 Church Street, Norfolk, VA 23504 and a funeral on Saturday, May 5th at 
12 p.m., at First Baptist Church, 418 E. Bute Street, Norfolk, VA. Family will 
be receiving guests at the home of her daughter, 5536 Hatteras Road, Virginia 
Beach, VA 23462.
