Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark July 20, 1934

Mrs. Ellen Cregan Coleman, widow of John R. Coleman and daughter of the late 
Cornelius and Honora Cregan, for the past 60 years a well known resident of 
Norfolk, died at her residence 811 Holt Street, last night at 6:25 o'clock. She 
is survived by one sister, Mrs. Thomas S. FitzGibbon; two nieces, the Misses 
Ellen and Cecilia FitzGibbon and a nephew, T. David FitzGibbon, all of Norfolk. 
Funeral services will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church tomorrow morning at 
10 o'clock. Interment will be private in St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends are 
requested by the family to kindly omit flowers.

MRS. ELLEN CREGAN COLEMAN - Funeral services for Mrs. Coleman, widow of John R. 
Coleman, whose death occurred Thursday evening were held at 10 o'clock yesterday 
morning at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with the Rev. John Kociela officiating.  
Rev. A. J. Taylor and Rev. A. Preston Campbell were present in the sanctuary.  
At the offertory of the mass, the "Benedictus" was sung by Vincent Smith, with 
Mrs. James Hughes, accompanist.  He also sang "Lead, Kindly Light."  The casket 
was covered with a pall of Easter lilies, gladiolus, baby's breath and fern. 
Interment was in St. Mary's Cemetery.  Six undertaker's assistants served as 
pallbearers.
