NORFOLK — Elvan Lewis (Al) Collamer Jr.. 64. of 9621 Chesapeake Blvd., Apt. W6-F, 
died Friday in a hospital. A native of Portsmouth who lived here since he was a 
child, he was the husband of Rita Dougherty Collamer and the son of Ada Phelps 
Collamer of Norfolk.

He was a retired sales representative and was a member of St. Pius X Catholic 
Church and Norfolk Elks Lodge 38.

Other survivors include three daughters, Rita C. Patterson and Mary Anne Naujoks 
of Norfolk and Susan C. Kipper of Virginia Beach; a son, Elvan L. Collamer III, 
and a sister, Frances C. Peed, of Norfolk; nine grandchildren; and a great-
grandchild.

A funeral Mass will be said at 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Pius X Catholic Church by 
the Rev. J. Michael Breslin. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. A 
Christian wake service will be held in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk, at 

7 p.m.  The family asks that flowers be omitted. Memorial donations may be made to 
the Oncology Special Care Program, Norfolk General Hospital, 600 Gresham Drive, 
Norfolk, Va. 23507.
