Collamer, superintendent of the Elizabeth Knitting Mills of the William Sloane Company and one of the best known and highly esteemed citizens of South Norfolk, died at the Norfolk Protestant hospital yesterday evening at 6:15 o'clock following an operation for appendicitis. He was 45 years old. Mr. Collamer was stricken Monday of last week and was operated on Thursday. He rallied and for a time it was thought his recovery was certain. He was a native of Amsterdam, N.Y., where he resided until ten years ago when he moved to this section, coming to take the position which he held at the time of his death. He had in his employ several hundred persons and was held in the highest esteem by them. He was a member of Thomas Jefferson Council, 16, Fraternal Order of Americans, of this city and the Odd Fellows in his home city, also a member of Memorial M.E. Church. He is survived by his widow, who was Miss Catherine L. Gilbert, daughter of Thomas Gilbert of Oregon, Wis.; two children, Miss Odis Mae and E.L. Collamer, both of this city. The funeral will take place at the residence, 4 Park Avenue, South Norfolk, Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Rev. W.T. Green, pastor of Memorial M.E. Church, will officiate and the interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery. Thomas Jefferson Council has been called out to attend the funeral. *********************************************************** The funeral of Frank A. Collamer will be conducted at the residence, 4 Park avenue, South Norfolk, this afternoon at 3 o'clock. Thomas Jefferson Council of Fraternal Americans and Oakdale Lodge, I.O.O.F., of which he was a member, have been called to attend the funeral. Rev. W.T. Green, pastor of Memorial M.E. Church, will officiate and the interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery. Mr. Collamer leaves two brothers and three sisters, H.A. and S.A. Collamer, Mrs. Ida Cunningham and Miss Nettie Van Patten, of Schenectady, N.Y. and Mrs. John A. Fitzgerald, of Norfolk.
