Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Thursday, October 28, 1999 
Virginia Ruffin Collette, 98, died Sept. 7, 1999, after a long illness.

She was a resident of Cobble Hill Nursing Home in Brooklyn for the last five
years. Virginia was the daughter of George and Fannie Collette. Her lifetime was
spent with varied interests and occupations, which included worldwide travel.
She possessed a feminist spirit long before it was fashionable.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of her daughter, Fannell Collett; her
niece, Eloise Collette Quidley; her great-niece, Monise Quidley; her
great-nephews, Wendell Quidley and Maurice Quidley and their five children,
Nicole, Montary, Amiya, Maurice and Shareef.

Her memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in Calvary Cemetery .
