Virginian-Pilot February 24, 1924
COLLINS – In a local hospital, Portsmouth, Va., on Saturday, February 23, 1924, at 
7:45 o’clock a.m., Mrs. JANIE SNEAD COLLINS, widow of John Collins and daughter of 
the late Charles and Mrs. Elizabeth Foster Snead, aged 69 years.
Funeral services will be conducted in the Home for the Aged, Emmet st., THIS 
(Sunday) AFTERNOON at 2 o’clock. Friends are invited to attend. Interment in 
Elmwood Cemetery, Norfolk.

Her maiden name is variably spelled Snead or Sneed.
