Mrs. Maria Ramsey Collins

Norfolk - Mrs. Arthur was called to New York City recently due to the illness of
her sister, Mrs. Maria Ramsey Collins, who died there on July 2.  She was the
daughter of the late George W. and Martha Ramsey of this city.

Accompanying the remains home were in addtion to Mrs. Arthur, Mrs. Sallie
Jennings, Miss Eloise Ramsey; her two children, Pvt. William Collins, and Mrs.
Earline Spencer of Lake Landing, NC.

Other survivors are: five brothers:  George W. Jr., Jethro, David, and Julian,
New York City, and Renard Ramsey of Washington DC;  and an aunt, Mrs. Lucy Young
of this city.

Final service was held in New York on July 6.  Burial was in Calvary cemetery
here on July 7.
