Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Wednesday, May 28, 1997
Sanford Leroy Collins, 86, of the 7000 block of Auburn Ave., died May 23, 1997,
in his home.

A native of Hyde County, N.C., he was retired from Hampton Roads Sanitation
District and a member of Hyde County Church of Disciples.

Survivors include his wife, Alice Collins; two daughters, Loretta Moore and
Earline Parker; two daughters-in-law; five sons, Leroy Collins, Andrew Collins,
Willie Collins, Otis Anderson, John Jones; and a son-in-law; several
grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many
cousins, nephews and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in Hale Funeral Home Chapel,
Norfolk. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery , Norfolk. A wake will be held at
the funeral home today from 7 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends at 7000
Auburn Ave., Apt. 918, but only the family will gather at the home at noon the
day of the service.
