COLLINS, JOHN JAMES - At the residence, No. 742 Washington Park, Saturday, 
December 11, 1948, at 5:15 o'clock a.m., JOHN JAMES, husband of Mrs. Margaret 
Payne Magee Collins and son of the late Monroe and Mrs. Olivia James Collins. 
Services at the chapel of the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, No. 1501 Colonial 
Avenue, MONDAY at 12 o'clock noon. Friends of the family are invited to attend. 
Interment, St. Mary's Cemetery.

John James Collins, husband of Mrs. Margaret Payne Magee Collins, and son of the 
late Monroe and Mrs. James Collins, a native of Ellicott City, Md. and a 
resident of Norfolk for 65 years, died yesterday at 5:15 a.m. at the residence, 
742 Washington Park.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Gregory M. Bell, Jr., of 
Norfolk; one son, John J. Collins, Jr., of Roanoke and one brother, W.E. 
Collins, of Baltimore, Md.
Mr. Collins, merchandise manager of the Graybar Electric Company, was a member 
of Norfolk Lodge No. 38, B.P.O. Elks. He was past president of the Kiwanis Club, 
the Electric Club and the Retail Merchants Association.
Services will be conducted at the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Monday at 
noon. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.

John James Collins — Funeral services for Mr. Collins, who died Saturday, were 
conducted yesterday at noon at the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments by the Rev. 
Paul V. Heller. Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
