Virginian-Pilot November 19, 1979
NORFOLK — Mrs. Bertha Ruby Ruth Columbus, 98, a native of Norfolk and the widow of 
Alexander Coale Columbus, died Sunday in a hospital.
An accountant, she was retired from the Government Accounting Office, Washington, 
D.C., and was a Roman Catholic.
Survivors include two granddaughters, Mrs. Susan Carli Goffigon of Norfolk and 
Mrs. Ruth Wade of Hawaii.
Arrangements are pending at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel. 
The family will be at 1326 Buckingham Ave., Norfolk.
