He was born in Manhattan, New York, the son of the late Victor Comerico and Sophie Frey Comerico. Mr. Comerico was currently employed with the U. S. Government as a tile setter. He was an active Boy Scout for many years with Troop 26 in Norfolk, where earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He was an active member of AA for twenty-four years. Mr. Comerico played the accordion; he loved and enjoyed being around his family, and looked forward to going to work every day. He worked with a group of people that he called his cherished friends and who meant the world to him. He enjoyed going to his AA group and made many lifetime friends and a special bond with Joe Novac. Mr. Comerico adored his daughter, the apple of his eye, he enjoyed his trips and seeing the world with his wife. He loved his dogs, loved waking up in the morning, good food and most of all loved his family. Mr. Comerico was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Marylyn Comerico Colvin. Survivors include his loving wife, Donna Raye Comerico, of Chesapeake, his beautiful daughter, Joey Lynne Greer, and her husband, Billy, of Carson, Virginia, two granddaughters, Trislyn Bodenhamer, and her husband, Donny, of Chester, Virginia, Katie Sinnett, of Carson, Virginia, two great-granddaughters, Kaley and Addison Bodenhamer, his four nieces, with whom he had a special bond, Cathy Lynn of Suffolk, Virginia, Terri Kilgore, and her husband, Billy, of Gloucester, Virginia, Victoria Stewart, and her husband, Tony, of Suffolk, Virginia, Faye McCoy, and her husband, Scott, of Prince George. Mr. Comerico is also survived by many great-nieces and -nephews, his step-sons, Joseph Papa, and his wife, Eva, Scott Papa, and his wife, Wendy, all of Newport, North Carolina, his step- grandchildren, Jonathan, Michael, Brittany and Kimberly Papa and his "Like a son," Joey Eubank of Mauertown, Virginia. A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday May 20, 2013, at the Norfolk Chapel of H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments by Father Joseph Metzger. There will be a visitation at the funeral home Sunday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. He will be dearly missed and loved by all, but know that he is reunited with his "Sissy".
