Norfolk Ledger-Dispatch May 23 & 25, 1936
COMPERE, WALTER MATTHEWS – Suddenly, at 45 W. Ocean View Avenue, Saturday morning, 
May 23, 1936, WALTER MATTHEWS COMPERE, husband of Bessie C. Compere, and son of 
Mrs. Louise and Walter M. Compere in the 20th year of his age.
Body was taken to Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home pending funeral arrangements.

Funeral services for Walter Matthew Compere, who died Saturday, were conducted at 
the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home this afternoon at 2:30 o’clock by Rev. Robert B. 
Kealy, pastor of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery.
