NORFOLK — George Matthew Compere, 79, of the 9400 block of Phillip Ave., a retired 
electrician, died March 6,1987, in a hospital.

Mr. Compere, a Portsmouth native, retired from Norfolk & Western Railway Co. He 
was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Minnie A. Compere; a daughter, Louise Compere, of 
Norfolk; a son, Raymond Compere, of Denver, Colo.; and a sister, Margaret Nixon, 
of Virginia Beach.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in St. Mary's Catholic 
Cemetery by the Rev. Daniel Kelly. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk, is 
handling arrangements.
