NORFOLK - Margaret Louise Compere, a retired teacher of Ocean View, passed away 
Dec. 12, 2008. Born in Havana, Cuba, in 1932, she was the daughter of Minnie A. 
Compere and George M. Compere, and sister of Raymond M. Compere of Norfolk. She 
was a graduate of The College of William and Mary and lifelong friend and advocate 
of animals and the environment. Donations on her behalf may be made to either the 
Norfolk SPCA or to PETA.
