Virginian-Pilot  August 18, 1916
The funeral of John J. Condren took place yesterday at Sacred Heart Catholic 
church at 10 a.m., conducted by Rev. Leo J. Ryan, and was largely attended, 
members of the Bricklayers’ union being present. “Lead Kindly Light” and “Abide 
With Me” were sung by Miss Nora Lawler. There were many floral tributes. Burial 
was in St. Mary’s cemetery, the pallbearers being R. Nugent, A. L. Ward, Joseph 
Smith, R. C. Smith, W. E. Titmus and John East.
