Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Thursday, September 13, 2001 
Ethel M. Connor of the 500 block of Liberty St. died Sept. 10, 2001. Born in
Tarboro, N.C., she retired from Copperthite Bakery and was a member of Queen
Street Baptist Church, Norfolk.

She is survived by a stepdaughter, Barbara Jean Connor of Norfolk; a sister,
Annie Marie Green of Baltimore, Md.; three brothers, John and Daniel Exum of
Jessup, Md., and Methuseiah Exum of Norfolk; five grandchildren; nine
great-grandchildren; an adopted niece, Belinda Ward-Dickerson of Norfolk; an
uncle, Edward Draughan of Gastonia, N.C.; and a host of nieces, nephews, other
relatives and many friends.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Metropolitan Funeral Service,
Granby Street Chapel, by the Rev. Joseph Lassiter. Burial will be in Calvary
Cemetery , Norfolk. Family and friends will assemble at 885 Maymont Ave.,
Norfolk, at 10 a.m. for the procession.
