Conrad Second Victim of Accident on Beach Boulevard Burton G. Conrad, 26 year old salesman, of 531 West Thirty-first street, died last night at 6:15 o'clock in St. Vincent's Hospital of head injuries he received early Sunday in an automobile accident on the Virginia Beach boulevard that claimed one other life and injured eight other persons. Conrad was a native of Winston-Salem, N.C., and had been a resident of Norfolk eight years. He was the son of Mrs. Mattie Shoaf Conrad and the late Robert L. Conrad In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by four sisters, Mrs. H.E. Rea, of Charlotte, N.C.; Mrs. Dillard McMillian, of Lexington, N.C.; Miss Johnsia Conrad, of Winston-Salem, and Miss Charlotte Conrad, of Charlotte; five brothers, J. Mack, Robert L., Earl H., Donald and Joe Conrad, all of Winston-Salem. Mr. Conrad was a member of the First Lutheran Church. The body was removed to the Graham Funeral Home, Jefferson and Jackson streets, South Norfolk. Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow afternoon at 4 o'clock at the First Lutheran Church. The place of burial will be announced later. Excerpt from article in Norfolk Virginian Pilot September 22, 1938 Burton G. Conrad - Funeral services for Mr. Conrad, of 531 West Thirty-first street, who died Wednesday night as the result of an automobile accident which occurred last Saturday night, will be conducted this afternoon at 4 o'clock at the First Lutheran Church. Interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
