Virginian Pilot July 5, 1955 

Mrs. Maria Antonia Contrada, widow of Vincenzo Contrada and daughter of the late 
Mr. and Mrs. Giuseppe Pugliese, died Sunday at 3:45 p.m. at the residence of her 
daughter in Philadelphia, Pa.
Mrs. Contrada was a native of Italy and a resident of Norfolk for 35 years, 
making her home in Philadelphia about two years ago. She is survived by two 
daughters, Mrs. Josephine Copes and Mrs. Mary Stefancik, both of Philadelphia 
and one son, A. Jimmie Contrada, of Norfolk; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-
grandchildren.
The body will be taken from H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, to Sacred Heart 
Catholic Church, for funeral services tomorrow at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. 
Mary's Cemetery.
Rosary services will be held at the funeral apartments tonight at 7:30 o'clock.
