                       J.A. Conway, 63, Oil Executive              

Joseph A. Conway, 63, of 100 Forsythe St., retired district manager of Gulf Oil 
Co., died Thursday at 7:35 a.m. in a hospital.
Mr. Conway, a son of Joseph A. and Mrs. Catherine Cragen Conway, was a native of 
Philadelphia and had lived in Norfolk since 1937.
He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and its Holy Name Society, 
past president of Cosmopolitan Club, past president of Ryan Club and a member of 
Virginia Club and Norfolk Elks Lodge 38.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Anna Rutherford Conway of Norfolk; three 
daughters, Mrs. Evan V. Hensley of Salisbury, Md., Mrs. James M. Rowsey of 
Norfolk and Mother M. Carmella Conway, RSHM, Arlington; a brother, Frank P. 
Conway of Philadelphia and three grandchildren.
The Rosary will be recited in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments tonight at 7:30 
A funeral service will be held in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church Saturday at 
noon. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.

CONWAY, JOSEPH A. — At a local hospital, Thursday, March 12th, 1964, at 7:35 
a.m., JOSEPH A. CONWAY, husband of Mrs. Anna Rutherford Conway, and son of the 
late Joseph A. Conway Sr. and Mrs. Catherine Cragen Conway, in the 64th year of 
his age. Remains will be taken from the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments to 
Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church for a funeral service SATURDAY, March 14, 
1964, at 12 o'clock. Friends of the family are invited to attend. Interment, St. 
Mary's Cemetery.
