NORFOLK - William S. Cook, 94, of the 2000 block of Beachmont Ave., departed 
this life May 31, 2008, at Sentara Nursing Center, Norfolk. "Snooks," as he was 
known, was born April 25, 1914, in Norfolk. He retired from the NMU Union as a 
merchant seaman in 1976. William was predeceased by his wife, Mignon Cook.

He leaves to cherish his memory, two sisters-in-law, Roxanne Coleman and Wyoma 
Gaskins; a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Calvary Cemetery, 1600 
St. Julian Ave. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home one hour 
prior to service for procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends 
from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Metropolitan Funeral Service, 
Granby St. Chapel, is in charge. Condolences may be offered to the family at
