The Virginian Pilot and Norfolk Landmark February 5, 1935
Mrs. Amelia M. Cook, aged 79 years, widow of Oliver J. Cook, and daughter of 
the late Thomas and Amelia Arnold, died yesterday morning at 9 o'clock at the 
Mary F. Ballentine Home. Mrs. Cook was a native of Boston, Mass., and had been 
a residence of Norfolk for the past 12 years. She is survived by one son, Elmer 
A. Cook, five grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral 
services will be held at the above home, tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, 
with the Rev. Fred A. Bobbitt, pastor of Park Avenue Baptist Church, 
officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
